Everything you need to know about the API Key

Let’s look at what you need to do to get started with your bot right away. How do you make an API key in the BOTS app, turn on the developer tools, and what else do you need to do to create a bot for the BOTS app? Let’s dive in.

Bot Developer Tools in the BOTS app

You might already be familiar with the BOTS app. But did you know that after you select ‘more,’ you can turn on the Bot Developer Tools? Once you’ve turned the Bot Developer Tools on, an extra icon appears in the bottom bar: the Bot Factory icon. This Bot Factory is where you can create and manage your bots!

Welcome to the Bot Factory

Once you’ve opened the Bot Factory, you’ll see a very straightforward form where you can fill in your bot’s name, team name, short bot description, and more. However, don’t worry about these details: you’ll have to give us a proper bot description and other information when filling in your bot creator forms.

How to create your API key

When you’ve done this, you can tap the ‘CREATE BOT’ button. Once you’ve ‘created’ your bot in the app, the app will create an API Key. You use this key to start sending signals to our API, and it will be operational within fifteen minutes. Besides your API key, you will also find Development docs and a link to the BOTS Discord on your screen.
